Interpack-2011 trade show was closed at May 18th. Now all the exhibitors are summing up the results of the show. Unipack.Ru team asked some of them what do they think about Interpack-2011.

Ralf Hipp, Vice President Digital Printing and Coding Solutions Atlantic Zeiser

It was clear at the show that customers are looking for ways to improve security. The fact our solutions can easily and seamlessly slot into any production line to provide clear product identification and traceability will help make that investment easier. With profit margins under increasing pressure product protection has never been so important which is why more and more brand owners and manufacturers are putting this issue at the top of their agendas.

Tom Graf, CEO of the OYSTAR Group

The interpack 2011 was a great success for the OYSTAR Group in all respects! The visitors to our booth were very qualified and we had a lot of profitable discussions including actual inquiries. Also, reactions to our product strategy were positive throughout.

Sabine Gauger, Marketing Director, Optima Group

The Optima Group was very satisfied with Interpack 2011. If we take it as an "barometer", we are convinced that the strong development of the last years will continue in the near future. The amount of contacts, many of them in relation to projects, are indicative. Some contracts had been signed at the show. Opposite to previous shows there was no rush of visitors on the first two days but a constant flow on all days. The organization was perfect as always - a big "thank you" to the Interpack team!

Annalisa Bellante, Marketing Manager of Cama Group

Great success of Cama at Interpack, where the Italian company presented a range of equipment solutions at the forefront of secondary packaging. Cama stands out for innovation in the robotic arena with its new generation of Multiple Delta robotic loading units. The latest system shown at the Cama booth is a loading unit, which can integrate up to four Delta robots, thanks to an advanced anti collision system.

The Cama multi Delta loading units represent another technological step forward to cater to customer needs. By means of a “smart” vision system, the robots can sort and pick loose products on a production line and position them into a container or on a conveyor in a pre-set pattern.

Another very appreciated Cama innovation is the IFeel Panel, a new wireless handheld terminal, which represents a considerable giant step forward in the new generation of Cama diagnostic panels. The Cama IFeel Panel represents the most comfortable and effective on board HMI to carry out preventive maintenance programs and size changing procedures by means of videos and relevant explanations.

Nicholas P. Barakat, CEO OCTAL

The show was simply great. There have been many inquieries about DPET™, from now on OCTAL is well known in Europe too. We had more visitors than expected and a great dialogue with both customers and journalists. We could find an excellent understanding with our customers and are looking forward to the interpack 2014. OCTAL will offer innovation to support the needs of the European industry – especially concerning meat, cheese, jogurt and dairy products.

Bernd Webel, Sales Director, Romaco Group

For the Romaco Group as an international supplier of packaging and processing solutions, the Interpack is the most important of all events.

During these seven days we met and talked to the entire packaging world at the Romaco booth. Most of the contacts were of crucial importance for our future business strategies.

Next to concrete sales deals we discussed our customers’ demands regarding technological developments for the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries.

This year, many of our customers came to the Romaco booth with precise ideas about new common projects which could already be arranged at Interpack.

With over 1,000 visitors at the Romaco booth and more than 800 detailed customer requests, Interpack 2011 proved absolutely successful for Romaco.

In total, Romaco presented eight innovative machines and plants for the processing and packaging of pharmaceuticals and cosmetics.

After day three of the trade show we had already negotiated the sales of our new Siebler strip packaging line including an integrated robotic transfer station with several strongly interested parties.

So Interpack 2011 set a real record of Romaco’s sales activities.

Vyacheslav Valov, Regional Sales Manager Multivac Rus

The results of the Interpack 2011 for our company turned out to be very positive. We have seen a noticeable increase in interest towards our packaging solutions and new products. Also stand attendance rate increased by 42% compared to year 2008.

Company MULTIVAC has participated in Interpack exhibition for many years. 2011 is a special year for us - the company celebrates 50 year anniversary so the preparations were done reflecting this special event.

This year MULTIVAC demonstrated a wide range of products and technological innovations: the new models of traysealers, thermoforming packaging machines, vacuum chamber machines, integrated packaging lines, labeling and marking equipment, and numerous other new products and solutions for various performance requirements – from processing small batches to larger needs.

The new compact thermoformer MULTIVAC the R 095 was especially interesting to the visitors. The R 095 has been designed for the production of vacuum and MAP packaging from a flexible film. Sliced products can be fed in automatically from a Bizerba slicer via a special feeding conveyor. This means that the R 95 is ideal for manufacturing high quality fresh-seal packaging for small batches of sliced products.

There was also a new event during the Interpack 2011 - the Congress SAVE FOOD. It was dedicated to innovative solutions in food conservation,.reducing food waste and energy consumption for production. At this event MULTIVAC presented an autoclave for the high-pressure processing (HPP) of foodstuffs. The company has developed an innovative process which makes high-pressure treatment of MAP-packaged foodstuffs possible for the first time. It’s an unique solution to increase the shelf life, maintain the structure, color and natural taste and best of all without preservatives and heating.

We would like to sincerely thank the exhibition organizers for excellent arrangements! The event has become the meeting place for professionals from all over the world.

Markus Rustlert, Director, Theegarten-Pactec

The interpack show is very important regarding communication with our customers. Due to the visitors' profile we were able to show our portfolio with all its facets. We could prove that we are on the right track to offer an entire selection of packaging types and performance variations. We are pleased with the high percentage of first class visitors, most of them with an international background. Aside from Western Europe, trade visitors from Brazil, Russia, Ukraine India and China as well as from the Americas, Africa and Japan requested specific information. Added to that, several orders were also placed directly at the fair.

The MCH wrapping machine, which excited the visitors, will now become the new benchmark for the packaging of jelly products in double-twist wrapping as it can wrap up to 1,000 pieces per minute. This is more than 60 per cent above the average that other machines of this type on the market can reach. Many visitors at the stand were also interested in learning more about the new service: the retrofitting of packaging machines with the goal of improving the performance of older machines. The company showed an EK1 packaging machine used to wrap hard boiled candies in double twist as an example of what can be achieved by way of a general overhaul. The EK1 launched in 1981was a very successful machine (more than 1.000 machines were build) and is still in operation all over the world.. We are expecting some retrofitting requests in the next few months. To us, retrofitting is a long-term service for our customers.

Sun Chemical demonstrated its ability to support all parts of the packaging development workflow from pack design concept through to press, conversion and brand launch with great success. Together with Sun Branding Solutions, we demonstrated that our abilities go far beyond inks and coatings and managed to capture an extraordinary number of leads as a result.

Visiting Interpack 2011, I noticed that, comparing with 2008, Russian-speaking representatives at the booths were significantly increased. They were actively communicating with visitors from Russia and CIS countries. This shows a growing interest of international companies in Russian market.

01.06.2011 14:38Siegfried Drost, CEO of Uhlmann

This interpack has even been better than the last one. We have been able to talk with our customers about very precise projects. Interpack is indeed the central meeting point for this industry, and I think it has gotten better than Achema. Uhlmann has been participating since 1978 and we have always been very satisfied. We will come back next time, and at least with a stand same size as this year's, if not even bigger.
